Girls' Generation (소녀 시대; Sonyeo Shidae) is a South Korean girlband formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007. [3] [4] They are also known by the name SNSD or SoShi (소시), both of which stand for the group's name in Korean. The group consists of eight members: Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun.
